چکیده
Direct damage due to insect pests is one of the major causes limiting yield potential blackgram (Vigna mungo L. Hepper) in Nepal. A total 17 genotypes were screened for resistance pests, including aphid (Aphis craccivora Koch.), whitefly (Bemisia tabaci Genn.), hairy caterpillar (Spilosoma obliqua Walker) and pod borer (Helicoverpa armigera Hubner) National Maize Research Program, Rampur, Chitwan during summer season 2018 2019. The design experiment was randomized complete block having three replications. Genotypes sown on first week August a unit plot size 4 rows 2 m long with 40 cm row spacing continue plant maintained net harvested 3.2 square meters. recommended dose fertilizer 20:40:20 N:P2O5:K2O kg/ha seed rate 25 kg/ha. package agronomic practices followed as per national recommendation. Data insects collected by counting number plant. components recorded at harvest. All differed significantly (p<0.05) population, components. From two years field data, BLG0069-1, BLG0036-1 BLG0079-1 had lower above mentioned populations, exhibited more resistant both produced higher grain (~1.5 t/ha) than other genotypes. These might be useful development pest tolerant high yielding variety subtropical region

155 Blackgram or urdbean (Vigna mungo [L.] Hepper) is an important grain legume with easily digestible protein and low flatulence contents. It is highly prized pulse, rich in phosphoric acid. Grain of Black gram grain contains about 25% protein, 56% carbohydrate, 2% fat, 4% minerals and 0.4% vitamins. Urd is said to have originated in India where it is most widely grown and highly esteemed grai...

Three doses each of Gamma – rays, EMS, NG, MH and in combination were administered to the seeds of morphologically and genetically distinct blackgram varieties, PU-30 and Sarala In M2 generation most treatment populations exhibited reduction in mean and increase in variance for all six quantitative traits and among the mutagens NG and combined treatments induced more variability in both the var...
متن کاملInheritance of Qualitative Traits and Their Linkage in Blackgram [vigna Mungo (l.) Hepper]
Four parents (Mash 1, Mash 3, MM 33-40, and 45726) were used to study inheritance of four qualitative characters, i.e., pubescence, seed coat colour, presence of spots on the seed coat and pod colour. All the four traits revealed monogenic nature of inheritance segregating in Mandelian ratio (3:1). The hairiness pattern was observed dominant over non-hairiness; brown seed coat colour dominant o...
متن کاملDirect Plant Regeneration from Cotyledonary Explants of Blackgram (vigna Mungo L.) Hepper
The present study was undertaken to investigate the possibility for developing Efficient Plant regeneration protocol in Vigno mungo L. For this, the effect of Cytokinens on in vitro regeneration from Cotyledonary explants was studied in Black gram (Vigno mungo L.) Hepper Var Vamban-1. The cytokinins used were 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), Thidiazuron (TDZ), and kinetin (Kn). The regenerated shoots...
